We are looking for a dependable, organized, and hands-on Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team and help maintain the high standards our guests expect.
Position Summary
The Head Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations, supporting and training room attendants, inspecting rooms and public areas, managing supplies, and ensuring guest rooms are clean, well-presented, and ready on time.
This is a working leadership position suited to someone who leads by example, communicates clearly, and takes pride in cleanliness, detail, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support housekeeping staff during daily operations
- Assign rooms and duties to housekeepers based on occupancy and priorities
- Inspect guest rooms, hallways, laundry areas, and public spaces for cleanliness and presentation
- Ensure rooms are cleaned, stocked, and released to the front desk in a timely manner
- Train new housekeeping staff on hotel standards and procedures
- Monitor linen, cleaning products, guest supplies, and housekeeping equipment
- Report maintenance issues, damages, lost and found items, and safety concerns promptly
- Assist with room cleaning, laundry, and public area cleaning when needed
- Maintain a positive working relationship with front desk, maintenance, and management
- Help ensure health, safety, and sanitation standards are followed
- Support scheduling, performance feedback, and day-to-day team communication as required
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping experience required
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality work
- Ability to organize daily tasks and keep the team on schedule
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Able to perform physical duties, including standing, bending, lifting, pushing carts, and handling laundry
- Available to work weekends, holidays, and busy hotel periods
- Hotel experience is an asset
