Community Education & FASD Awareness

Northwest PEACE FASD Network is seeking a compassionate and motivated individual to join our team as a Prevention Conversation Facilitator based in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
In this role, you will help support Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) prevention awareness throughout Northwestern Alberta by leading engaging conversations, sharing resources, building community partnerships, and supporting learning opportunities that empower individuals, families, and communities.
What You’ll Do
- Share current and accurate information about FASD prevention, characteristics, and community resources.
- Facilitate meaningful conversations and educational opportunities with diverse audiences.
- Build strong relationships and partnerships within communities throughout the region.
- Represent the Network at community gatherings, meetings, and events.
- Support awareness initiatives through newsletters, blogs, Facebook, and other communication platforms.
- Travel within the Northwest Region, including rural and remote communities.
- Collaborate as part of a supportive and passionate team.
What We’re Looking For
- Diploma or degree in Health, Human, or Social Services.
- Knowledge and understanding of FASD and disabilities.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively with diverse cultures and communities.
- Familiarity with the Peace Country region is considered an asset.
- Comfort using computers, virtual meeting platforms, and presentation equipment.
· Experience using social media and digital communication platforms for community engagement and awareness initiatives.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and staying informed on current FASD research and developments.

Position Details
- Hours: 32 hours per week (Monday–Thursday)
- Location: Grande Prairie, Alberta
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid flexibility available following successful probation.
- Wage: Starting at $34.00 per hour, based on experience
- Occasional flexible hours and regional travel will be required. Travel expenses, mileage and accommodation are covered according to organizational policy.
- A reliable vehicle is required.
