Position Summary:
Peridot is seeking an experienced HIAB/Crane Operator (DZ Driver) to join our growing team in Brampton, Ontario. This position is ideal for a safety-focused, dependable professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport and deliver materials to customer locations in accordance with company dispatch instructions and schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is safe and mechanically sound.
- Perform daily HIAB/crane pre-operational inspections and complete maintenance checklists, including cleaning and lubricating equipment as required.
- Properly secure loads to ensure safe transportation and prevent product damage or accidents.
- Supervise all loading and unloading procedures to prevent any cargo damage that may occur as a result of unsafe handling or negligence.
- Obtain customer signatures after each delivery to confirm receipt of the correct goods, in the correct quantity.
- Plan and adjust travel routes to accommodate traffic conditions, road closures, construction, and weather-related challenges.
- Perform routine vehicle and equipment maintenance and housekeeping as required.
- Report delivery delays, cargo damage, vehicle issues, or safety concerns promptly to dispatch and management.
- Complete all required forms, logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation accurately and on time.
- Adhere to all company policies, transportation regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Support team objectives and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario DZ Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
- Previous experience operating a HIAB or truck-mounted crane.
- Proven experience as a DZ Driver.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and safe driving practices.
- Ability to operate safely in varying weather, road, and traffic conditions.
- Experience using GPS navigation systems and route-planning tools.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excels at operating in a fast-paced, community environment.
