Carpenter/Installer - National Carpentry Installation - NCI
We are seeking Carpenters and Installers to join our growing company at NCI.
NCI or National Carpentry Installation is located in Winnipeg at 981 Main Street.
This is a FT role and involves working building, installing, and repairing structures using wood and other materials, following blueprints and building plans, and using various tools and machinery.
Key Responsibilities Details
- Construction and Installation - Build, assemble, and install various structures and fixtures, including walls, floors, door-frames, and cabinets.
- Blueprint Reading and Interpretation - Follow blueprints and building plans to accurately measure, cut, and shape materials.
- Material Handling - Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials, ensuring precise and accurate work.
- Tool Proficiency - Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to perform carpentry tasks efficiently and safely.
- Repair and Maintenance - Inspect and repair damaged structures and fixtures, ensuring structural integrity and longevity.
- Collaboration and Communication - Work with other tradespeople, construction crews, and clients to coordinate projects and ensure smooth workflows.
- Safety Compliance - Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices.
- Problem-solving - Address challenges and issues that may arise during construction, finding creative solutions and ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards.
- Client Interaction - Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction with the final product.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 5-years previous carpentry experience
- Red seal carpenter or working towards it
- At ease with hand and power tools, including drills, saws, nail guns chisels and sanders
- Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations and codes
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Own tool belt with tools is required
- Able to perform physical labour jobs, including standing/walking for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and lifting materials up to 50 lbs. for up to eight hours at a time
- Must have steel toe boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses and other PPE may be needed
- Client facing position: respectful communication and neat and tidy appearance is a must
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow verbal or written directions, a high sense of urgency, and a team player attitude

Salary Range: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
Hourly rate depend on experience, Red Seal Status, and training.
