Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting a Manual Machinist for a reputable and growing client. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled trades professional who takes pride in precision machining and mechanical assembly — particularly candidates with experience assembling bin pullers.
Position Overview
The Manual Machinist is responsible for manual metalworking setup and operation while working collaboratively to meet production goals and customer expectations. This role also includes the mechanical assembly of bin pullers, requiring strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
We are seeking candidates with 3+ years of hands-on experience operating manual machines in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathe, mill, and drill press machines
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Select proper tools, fixtures, speeds, and feeds
- Perform tool changes and ensure proper machine setup
- Safely load and unload raw materials and components
- Verify part dimensions using precision measuring instruments
- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerances
- Assemble mechanical components to build bin pullers
- Perform routine machine cleaning and light maintenance
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations
- Work independently while contributing effectively to team goals
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience operating manual machining equipment
- Strong proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation
- Experience assembling bin pullers (highly preferred)
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Skilled in precision measuring instruments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Reliable and safety-focused
