Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Red Seal Automotive Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience working on various types of machinery and equipment. Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic assessments using schematics and technical manuals to identify vehicle or equipment issues
- Perform repairs and maintenance on automobiles, heavy machinery, farm equipment, HVAC systems, and industrial equipment
- Operate power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment
- Replace or repair mechanical components including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems
- Use electrical experience to troubleshoot wiring issues and electronic systems within vehicles or machinery
- Follow safety protocols during all repair procedures and operate heavy equipment safely when required
- Maintain detailed service records and document repairs accurately
- Assist in assembly or disassembly of parts for repair or replacement purposes
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and ensuring customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- Red Seal Automotive Service Technician Certificate
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive repair processes
- Dealership experience preferred but not required
- Hands-on experience with excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, HVAC systems, welding, electrical systems, and industrial equipment is a plus
- Proficiency with schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery safely
- Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks regularly
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
