Description: We're seeking Wind Turbine Technicians (Levels I, II & III) to support a wind farm in Shelburne, Ontario. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity with an established wind operation. Senior-level technicians will serve as technical leaders, performing advanced troubleshooting while mentoring junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wind turbines.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control system issues.
- Diagnose turbine faults and perform root cause analysis.
- Complete inspections, repairs, and component replacements.
- Utilize OEM documentation, diagnostic tools, and test equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete CMMS work orders.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO).
- Support site reliability and maximize turbine availability.
- Level III technicians will mentor junior technicians and assist with maintenance planning, quality oversight, and technical leadership.
Qualifications
Level I
- Mechanical or electrical aptitude with wind industry experience preferred.
- Wind turbine experience preferred.
- GE platform experience preferred but not required.
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
Level II
- Prior wind turbine maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- GE platform experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
Level III
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on wind energy/site operations experience.
- Direct GE wind turbine platform experience required.
- Proven experience performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Experience leading work activities, mentoring technicians, and coordinating maintenance.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with customers and site leadership.
Compensation & Benefits
- CAD $30–45+/hour (higher compensation may be available based on experience)
