KTI Utility Services Inc. is thrilled to announce a significant 18-month initiative—the Gas Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Project! This critical project is focused on modernizing our gas metering infrastructure by upgrading existing gas meters to advanced, wireless-enabled devices or retrofitting current meters to support wireless communication.
As part of this exciting transformation, we are actively seeking motivated, customer-focused individuals to join our dedicated installer team. In this role, you will play an essential part in upgrading legacy gas meters by installing new meters and radio transmitters that support wireless communication—contributing directly to the evolution of our gas system. With a mandatory Gas Fitter-B License, you will use your technical expertise to ensure that all gas-related installations and work are performed safely and correctly.

What would your day look like as FSR with KUS?
- Installation and service work related to gas meters
- Installation of gas meters will be performed 90% outdoors, 10% indoors
- Installation of transmitters and associated equipment
- Recording old readings and new gas meter serial numbers
- Coordinates installation scheduling and meets quality/quantity and safety requirements
- Digital data entry through an Electronic Work Order on a handheld device
- Self-management of assigned accounts to completion
- Working in compliance with Health and Safety Policy/Procedures
- Communicate updates to clients with top-notch customer service
- Any other duties which may be assigned to you from time to time by your manager
Schedule:
Lower Mainland:
CLO: (March – October)
7:30 - 16:00 3 weeks
14:00 - 22:30 1 weeks (+On call overnight + Weekend)
CLO Blackout: (November – February)
7:30 - 16:00 all
On-Call rotation every 4 week.
Who is our ideal candidate?
- Construction/Trades/Labourer: 2 years +
- In-depth knowledge of safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in the gas fitting and utilities industry.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
- Mechanical aptitude
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Required: B ticket Gas Fitter
- Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle (with car insurance)
- Mandatory clean criminal background check and driver record/abstract
- Willing to work outside in the heat and in the cold
- Requirement of being able to work an evening shift (2pm-10:30pm) and be on call every (4 week for LMS)
- This evening shift has a higher potential for piece rates
- On-call stipends
