Position Summary
Hennick Humber Hospital, a leading academic community hospital, is seeking highly motivated and skilled General Internists to join our dynamic Internal Medicine Division, for assistance in covering a parental leave. The leave would be between November 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027.
As part of the General Internal Medicine group at HHH, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients in the outpatient and inpatient settings, managing a wide range of adult medical conditions, and contributing to the academic and educational mission of the institution. Humber’s affiliation with the University of Toronto and Queen’s University offers the opportunity to be a part of a vibrant academic community, working closely with residents, fellows, and medical students, while contributing to innovative clinical research projects. The ideal candidate will be passionate about general internal medicine and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse population.
The successful candidate would be expected to:

Provide outpatient and inpatient care for adult patients with a broad range of medical conditions, including chronic diseases, acute illnesses, and preventive health.

Conduct comprehensive evaluations, make diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans, integrating evidence-based medicine into daily practice.

Manage patients with complex multi-system conditions, coordinating care with other specialties as needed.

Participate in on-call rotations for inpatient care and ED admissions to GIM, providing weekend and after-hours coverage as needed.

Participate in ambulatory clinics at HRH including Urgent Medical Care Clinic, Surgical Pre-Screening Clinic and OB Medicine Clinic.

Offer patient education, counseling, and support to improve health outcomes and promote wellness.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience in General Internal Medicine, managing complex inpatients, working with multidisciplinary teams, and participating in on-call shifts, outpatient clinics and other program-related activities.
In addition to demonstrated clinical excellence and outstanding interpersonal skills, candidates must be a qualified medical practitioner and a member of, or eligible for membership, with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario. Candidates must also have relevant certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
