R.C. Crane & Construction is a family-owned company based in Whitehorse Yukon, with mobile crane projects located throughout the territory. We are currently seeking an experienced taxi crane operator to join our team. Scheduling and shift rotations vary depending on current projects but we are open to working with operators to develop a mutually beneficial schedule. Our work includes both in-town and remote projects, and we are hiring for both taxi and project operator positions. Flights to and from the Yukon, staff housing, and a company vehicle are provided.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of mobile cranes and boom trucks ranging from 40 to 275 tons, selecting and setting up the appropriate crane, lift, or hoist to complete each task safely and efficiently
- Inspect machines and equipment daily and perform routine maintenance procedures
- Operate cranes, lifts, and other equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of materials and personnel on site
- Provide support to other crane operators as required, including working overtime when necessary to complete projects
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license
- Mobile Crane Operator certification or Boom Truck certification (various tonnages will be considered)
- Previous taxi crane operating experience (2 years)
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
