Job Summary
As a Customer Assistance Navigator, you will effectively inform, educate and assist customers in our parking lots to create the best recycling experience possible. This role’s core duty is effective communication and ensuring, a positive customer experience. The Customer Assistance Navigator will be the first point of contact for our customers. You will become an expert in all aspects of Regional Recycling’s recycling programs and functions and why we do it, staying up to date on the cutting edge of recycling and customer service.
Core Job Duties
Customer Service & Community Relations
· As an ambassador of Regional Recycling, you will maintain a clean and professional look on the job.
· Ensure the parking lot is clean, safe, and clear of traffic congestion or physical barriers that prevent customer flow through
· Constantly monitor for opportunities to inform, educate, and assist our customers to maximize lot turnover
· Identify elderly or disabled customers and assist these customers in pushing their cart into the depot
· Answer customer questions and direct customers to the proper drop off areas
· Monitor what customers are dropping off for compliance and educate when necessary
Job knowledge
· Keep up to date on the many stewardship programs to best inform our customers
· Be knowledgeable on and effectively communicate value added services such as Quick Count, Fast Drop, and D-Zip to our customers
· Speak clearly and confidently, always maintaining a respectful and welcoming presence and tone with customers
Other Responsibilities
- Promptly report any safety or customer service escalations to a Depot Manager or Supervisor
- When not carrying out Customer Assistance roles, you will work as a member of the Depot team and may be asked to carry out duties of bottle sorter or cashier
- Maintain and clean areas inside the depot
- Manage the exterior electronics, battery, and paint drop off
Qualifications & Skills
- Physically fit; able to walk and stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 40 lbs in all weather conditions.
- Strong English language communication skills
- At least 1 year in a customer service role or equivalent volunteer experience working with people
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule including weekends or irregular hours as required by operations.
Pay: From $17.85 per hour
