Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing vehicle service and repairs. This role involves coordinating service appointments, communicating effectively with customers and technicians, and ensuring a positive service experience. Previous dealership experience, mechanical knowledge, and strong customer service skills are highly valued. The Service Advisor plays a vital role in maintaining customer satisfaction and driving sales through upselling additional services.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival, establishing a welcoming environment
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues for technicians
- Explain recommended services and repairs clearly, ensuring customer understanding
- Prepare repair orders, including detailed descriptions of work needed and estimated timeframes
- Coordinate with the service team to prioritize and schedule repairs efficiently
- Upsell additional maintenance or repair services based on customer needs and vehicle requirements
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and issuing receipts
- Follow up with customers on vehicle status and ensure their questions or concerns are addressed
- Maintain detailed records of all service activities, repairs, and customer interactions
- Promote dealership services, parts, and accessories to enhance sales opportunities
Skills
- Previous dealer/service experience is preferred; familiarity with automotive sales processes is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge or mechanic experience helps in understanding vehicle repairs and communicating effectively with technicians
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical information clearly to customers of varying backgrounds
- Sales aptitude with the ability to upsell additional services tactfully and professionally
- Cash handling experience for processing payments accurately
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Organizational skills to manage multiple appointments and repair orders simultaneously
