Concrete Foreman
Work – Industrial Civil (Structural Gradebeams, Pile Caps, & Slabs)
Duration – ~12-week temporary, project-based (July start) — strong potential to go permanent
Locations – Suncor Firebag Facility (Fort McMurray, AB area) — Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) with camp accommodations provided
Compensation – $42–$52/hr, based on experience and competency · Full flights and camp covered
Lead the civil crew, own the execution, and hold the standard on a major heavy industrial firehall build.
Why this is worth your time
- Pay for what you bring. Competitive rate set to your real experience and competency — not a flat band.
- Full FIFO package. Flights and camp accommodations completely covered — zero out-of-pocket costs to get to site.
- Predictable rotation hours. A steady 14x7 continuous rotation schedule guarantees excellent hours and clear time off.
- Serious industrial infrastructure. Building the new firehall facility — executing heavy structural gradebeams, pile caps, and slabs.
- A team that means it. Quality, safety, and accountability are non-negotiable here.
- A future, not just a job. Project-based entry with a strong path to go permanent — based on performance and fit.
What you'll run
- Lead the civil field crew on industrial scopes: structural gradebeams, pile caps, and heavy foundations
- Run the work from structural drawings and briefing packages — sequence it, resource it, keep it moving
- Own daily logistics: crew activities, materials, concrete sequencing, and equipment
- Hold site safety — active industrial facility protocols, toolbox talks, and standards every single day
- Report production daily and flag issues early to the Superintendent
- Ensure workmanship meets strict ITP and Suncor project specifications
What you bring
- 7+ years concrete construction, with 2+ in an industrial lead or foreman role
- Deep structural concrete and heavy civil experience (gradebeams, pile caps, engineered forming)
- You read and work from structural and civil drawings cold
- Strong crew leadership and communication in a high-compliance heavy industrial setting
- Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) licence, clean 3-year abstract
- Can clear all industrial site access requirements (Suncor orientation, safety tickets, D&A testing)
- Ability to execute a 14x7 continuous shift schedule
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Nice to have: Experience with engineered forming systems (Doka, Peri) · direct experience on Suncor or major oil sands civil sites · safety leadership training (NCSO, Leadership for Safety Excellence, or equivalent).
