Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an experienced, passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator' (ECE) to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing exceptional care and education to children aged 30 months to school age in our daycare. We currently are not offering LMIA applicants.
VIHA Qualifications:
- A clean criminal record check
- A current/valid first aid certificate
- At least 19 years of age
- A current BC Early Childhood Education Certificate
Qualifications:
- Education: BC License to Practice as an Early Childhood Educator
- Experience: 2 years’ experience working with children in a licensed center.
- Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills to be able to covey messages to families, staff, and children effectively.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Knowledge: An understanding of child development principles and VIHA licensing regulations.
- Diversity and Cultural Competency: Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and awareness with the ability to create programming that is inclusive of diverse needs.
Duties:
- Develop and implement activities and experiences that align with the needs, interests and abilities of the children in the program using monthly program planning
- Follow childcare licensing regulations as well as the center's policies and procedures
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Maintain positivity and enthusiasm in your practice
- Ensure an inclusive and culturally sensitive environment for children, families, and team members
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress
- Maintain accurate records of each child's development and progress
