THE OPPORTUNITY
The Truck Field Service Technicians will be responsible for travelling to customers' locations to repair and maintain diesel-engine industrial trucks in accordance with dealership and factory specifications.
This position is located at our sales and service dealership in Fort St. John, BC.
Pay Range
The pay range for this position is $50.00 to $56.00, plus Mobile Premium per hour. Wages are based on experience.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Travels to customer locations to repair and maintain heavy trucks, Class 8, vocational trucks and other heavy trucks.

Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards including engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, colling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up and preventative maintenance

Analyzes customers’ truck performance complaints, diagnoses cause of any malfunctions, and performs repair.

Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.

Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.

Documenting all work performed and recommended on the repair order.

Road test vehicles when required.

Becomes familiar with and complies with the company’s Health & Safety Manual.

Maintains company service truck, ensuring it is kept clean and in good repair

Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, occupational health & safety regulations, etc.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR

Qualification as a Licensed Truck & Transport Technician essential, Red Seal Journeyperson status preferred

Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Computer skills and experience needed to utilize required computer tools and systems

Valid Driver’s License required, Class 3 with Airbrake Endorsement or Class 1 (to test drive truck & trailer) preferred

Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVIP) Certification

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented with ability to multi-task
