Metal Connection is one of Western Canada's leading providers of laser cutting, plasma cutting, forming, and metal fabrication services. We help manufacturers across the mining, transportation, agriculture, industrial, and energy sectors improve efficiency through advanced manufacturing solutions.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for a detail-oriented and motivated entry level Estimator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing projects, working with customers, and collaborating with our sales and production team to deliver accurate, competitive quotations.
Duties Include:
- Review customer drawings, specifications, and RFQs
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for laser/plasma/oxy cutting, and forming.
- Communicate with customers to clarify project requirements and timelines
- Work closely with sales team, production, and purchasing to ensure accurate pricing and manufacturability
- Follow up on quotations and assist with converting opportunities into orders
- Maintain quotation records and update pricing information as required
- Assist with continuous improvement of estimating processes and cost accuracy
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in estimating, manufacturing, metal fabrication, or a related industry is preferred but not required
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel); experience with ERP or estimating software is an asset
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
