Advisors across Canada are rethinking how they build their practices. The tools are better. The expectations are higher. The old platform models are showing their age. Purpose Unlimited is building the alternative – an advisor platform that combines investment product manufacturing, practice management intelligence, and AI-powered support into something genuinely useful.
Who You are
We are looking for a VP, Advisor Development Sales to lead advisor acquisition for our Advisor Solutions Platform. This is not a role where you manage a pipeline and wait for inbound. You will be the person who finds the right advisors, earns their trust, helps them see what their practice could become on Purpose’s platform, and brings them in.
You will own the full advisor acquisition lifecycle – from strategic prospecting through to close – and you will do it with AI tools that handle the routine so you can focus on what actually wins deals: relationships, judgment, and the ability to help an advisor envision something better.
Responsibilities:
What You Will Deliver
- Drive net new advisor acquisition revenue, converting high-potential advisors to the Purpose platform through consultative, trust-based engagement
- Build and execute a strategic acquisition plan targeting specific advisor segments, geographies, and competitive displacement opportunities across Canada
- Architect complex platform transitions for established advisory practices – navigating compliance, technology migration, book transfers, and change management
- Serve as the strategic voice of the advisor to Purpose’s product, technology, and leadership teams – translating field intelligence into platform improvements that matter
- Develop deep market intelligence on competitive platforms, advisor sentiment, and industry shifts – using AI tools to surface insight and your judgment to act on it
- Deliver practice management consulting to prospects and platform advisors – helping them grow, modernize, and future-proof their businesses
- Collaborate across product, compliance, marketing, and operations to remove barriers and accelerate advisor onboarding
What AI Does So You Don’t Have To
Purpose is an AI-forward organization. In this role, AI handles:
- Prospect research, lead scoring, and prioritization – AI surfaces the highest-value advisor targets from market and CRM data
- First-draft proposals, pitch materials, and personalized advisor communications
- Pipeline forecasting, activity tracking, and real-time competitive intelligence monitoring
- Meeting preparation – advisor profiles, practice analytics, and talking points assembled before every conversation
You direct the AI. You validate the output. You bring the judgment and relationship that no tool can replicate.

- Build the trust that makes an advisor willing to move their life’s work to a new platform
- Read a room – understand what an advisor is really asking for beneath the surface-level objection
- Navigate the emotional complexity of a platform transition – fear, inertia, loyalty, ambition
- Structure creative deal terms and partnership models that work for the advisor and for Purpose
- Translate what you hear in the field into product and strategy insight that makes Purpose better
Qualifications:
What You Must Bring
- Deep experience in advisor-facing roles within Canadian wealth management – you understand how advisors think, what they value, and what drives their decisions
- A consultative sales approach grounded in trust-building, not transactional closing – demonstrated track record of complex, multi-stakeholder advisory transitions
- Strong familiarity with the Canadian advisor landscape – platforms, dealers, regulatory environment, and competitive dynamics
- Comfort working with AI tools as part of your daily workflow – you are already using AI for research, content creation, or sales preparation, or eager to start

- Experience leading advisor transitions from competing platforms – you’ve navigated the compliance, technology, and emotional complexity of moving a book
- Practice management consulting experience – you can help an advisor redesign their business, not just switch providers
- Entrepreneurial instinct – you’ve built something in a fast-growing environment and know how to create structure without bureaucracy
- A genuine perspective on how AI will reshape wealth management and advisor practices in the next 3–5 years
- Existing relationships in the Canadian advisor community that you can mobilize from day one

What Success Looks Like in Your First Year
- Closed a defined number of net new advisor transitions to the Purpose platform, meeting or exceeding the acquisition revenue target set with your leader
- Built a strategic pipeline of high-potential advisor prospects segmented by geography, practice size, and competitive platform – with a clear conversion roadmap for each
- Established Purpose’s reputation as a credible, trusted alternative in at least two competitive markets where we have historically underperformed
- Delivered at least three actionable product or platform insights from the field that influenced roadmap priorities
- Demonstrated consistent use of AI tools across prospecting, proposal generation, and competitive intelligence – setting the standard for the sales function
Travel: Regular travel across Canada is part of this role. You are the in-person ambassador of Purpose’s advisor platform, and relationships are built face to face.
