Main Duties of a Hostess
- Greeting guests warmly upon arrival
- Managing reservations and waitlists
- Escorting guests to their tables or assigned areas
- Providing menus and explaining specials if needed
- Coordinating seating arrangements efficiently
- Answering phone calls and customer inquiries
- Maintaining a clean and organized reception area
- Communicating with servers and kitchen staff about table status
- Handling customer complaints politely and professionally
- Thanking guests as they leave
Additional Responsibilities
- Monitoring dining room capacity
- Assisting with special events or VIP guests
- Updating reservation systems
- Ensuring excellent customer service and guest satisfaction
