Deep River Nursery School and Childcare Center is seeking a support staff member. în our before and after school program. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for teaching young children and a strong dedication to supporting their educational growth while encouraging positive social interactions.
In this vital role, you will assist in delivering high-quality care and support to children with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, or required support with behavior. Your proactive approach will ensure a safe, engaging environment where children can thrive. Duties
- Support children with daily activities in the classroom, including feeding, dressing, toileting
- Help implement individualized support plans
- Work closely with the team to provide guidance, emotional support and encouragement to all children to create a sense of belonging and inclusion.
- Collaborate with co-workers, parents, the County of Renfrew Integration Services, and other staff to achieve goals set for the children.
- Develop Individual Plans to help children reach their developmental goals.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- Recent experience in a licensed child care setting is considered an asset.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in child care setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen, issued within the last 6 months.
- Valid Standard First Aid/CPR Level C certification.
- Up-to-date immunization
Hours of Work:
During instructional (school) days, the regular hours are 7:00–9:00 a.m. and 3:30–5:30 p.m. There is the possibility of extending the position to up to 8 hours per day for the right candidate.
During non-instructional days, including PA Days, March Break, and summer vacation, the hours are 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m
