Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and professional Local Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves safely transporting goods to various customer locations within the local area, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods within designated routes.
- Load and unload items using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Ensure accurate delivery of products to customers, verifying order details and receiving signatures when required.
- Assist with moving heavy or bulky items, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the delivery vehicle and work area.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safe driving practices.
- Keep detailed records of deliveries, mileage, and any incidents during routes.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or appropriate licensing for local delivery driving.
- Experience in warehouse operations, moving heavy items, or forklift operation is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling of goods safely.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers.
- Prior experience in commercial driving or delivery services is advantageous.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Reliable transportation to reach the starting point of daily routes.
This position is vital to ensuring our customers receive their orders efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and service quality.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
