POSITION: Assembly Technician (Aerospace)
WAGE: $25.00-$28.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Assembly can be tedious work, When parts are not assembled accurately, it can cause major problems. You are part of helping to keep an aircraft safe!
Do you have a passion for detail? We have a great opportunity for an individual that has good hand-eye coordination, is detail orientated, good with small hand tools and okay with doing repetitive work.
As our Assembly Technician you complete final assembly of aircraft parts with the use of industry standard tooling, production techniques and best practices.
Your responsibilities:
- Perform bench assembly of aircraft parts using various tools and equipment.
- Construct metal components and mechanisms using various production techniques including but not limited to riveting, unriveting, sealing, fastening, swaging of bearings, drilling, masking and painting.
- Inspect dimensions to ensure components adhere to blueprint specification.
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure strict adherence to 5S Standards.
What We're Looking For:
- 3 plus years' experience in an assembly or repair environment; Aviation, automotive or mechanical assembly strongly preferred
- A certificate or diploma in Aircraft Structural Assembly or related trades is a significant asset.
- Must have mechanical abilities/aptitude (experience with hand tools, air tools and power tools).
- Must have proficiency with using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers) and metal fabrication equipment.
- Must be able to read and work with production work orders, blueprints, diagrams and assembly manuals
- Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying and division) are required.
- Must have strong sensory skills (good eyesight, hand dexterity, hand/eye coordination)
