Job Overview
As an Industrial Mechanic, you will help maintain and manage facility equipment. This includes performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting daily equipment issues, and assisting in developing maintenance programs and procedures. You will work closely with the Regional Maintenance team, project managers, and equipment suppliers/contactors. You will also maintain equipment inventories, respond to repair and emergency calls, and take a proactive approach to maintenance under the guidance of the Regional Maintenance Department.
Duties
- Follows all McAsphalt Health and Safety policies and Procedures.
- Responsible for maintenance of work areas and all tooling.
- Maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots production machinery and plant equipment.
- Diagnoses equipment issues using observation, measurement tools, and testing instruments.
- Performs preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and lubrication on mechanical equipment.
- Responds to major emergencies during and after hours as required.
- Supports Engineering and Operations with new construction and upgrade projects.
- Develops and executes projects to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Manages, creates, and executes work orders within the CMMS system,
- Coordinates services and maintains supplier and contractor relationships in line with company values and goals.
- Coordinates completion of projects and work orders efficiently.
- Communicates work order status, procedures, and updates to relevant personnel for decision-making and compliance.
- Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Manages inventory by requesting equipment and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs.
- Transports tools, equipment, and materials to job sites as required.
- Responsible for ensuring integrity and presentation of maintenance data for audits.
- Maintains technical knowledge through training, publications, and professional networks.
- Oversees and supports the professional development of apprentice Industrial Mechanics.
Requirements
- Valid Alberta Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate or a recognized interprovincial equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an industrial environment
- Strong work ethic with ability to work alone or in small teams
- Experience with CMMS system and strong computer skills are required
- Experience with manufacturing processes, PLC, automation, pumps, valves, piping, heating tracing, thermal oil heaters, steam boilers, and diverse low voltage Industrial electrical systems
- Ability to recognize risks to support safety in the workplace
- Elevated work platform training
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Class 5 Drivers License

Pay: $28.00-$39.00 per hour
