Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (7.5 hours/day)
Sterling House is seeking a dependable, motivated, and detail-oriented Building Housekeeper to join our team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, take initiative, and consistently maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the building.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain all common and communal areas throughout the building
- Empty garbage and recycling receptacles and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Replenish washroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or repair needs.
- Follow infection prevention and control practices and safe handling procedures for cleaning products.
- Maintain organized housekeeping storage areas and equipment.
- Work independently while managing daily priorities efficiently.
- Provide friendly and respectful service to residents, families, and visitors.
- Cross-train and provide coverage for Linen Services when required.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Physically able to perform repetitive tasks, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and pushing housekeeping equipment throughout the shift.
- Consistent attendance.
- Ability to communicate professionally with residents, visitors, and team members.
