Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of Food Services Manager, the kitchen helper assists in providing food services and clean up.
Basic Functions:
- Follows the "Time Management Schedule" draft by the Manager: Food Services.
- The main function of this position is that of COOKS HELPER. Assists the cook in the preparation of specific food items, and with the serving of food.
- Washes all crockery, cutlery, dishes, saucepans and pots used in the operation of the kitchen and dining room.

Attends to bussing dishes from the dining room.
- Always maintains dining room tables and chairs in a clean and tidy condition for all dining room clients.

Cleans kitchen floors and other specified areas.

Assists in all Fire Emergencies.

May perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

No specific academic education is required. Must be able to read and write.

One-year minimum kitchen/restaurant helper experience is required.

Initially, must provide own non-slip, safety work boots.

Food Safe 1 basic is a requirement of employment.

Must provide verification of negative TB skin test.

Must provide a clear Criminal Record Check.

Willing to take Occupational First Aid Certification after being hired.

Must understand and reflect the ARC Philosophy, Standards, and Tenets.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, will be required to provide:

Background check consent.

A clear vulnerable sector screening.

A clean drivers abstract (optional).

Completion of our online Praesidium/Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.

Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $22.53 to $23.03 with a maximum of $23.53.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
