Position Overview:
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Technician supports daily manufacturing operations in a regulated production environment while working within a team-oriented environment. This role involves equipment operation, cleaning and sterilization procedures, documentation, and adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. This position requires a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining high standards of efficiency, accuracy, and quality in all aspects of production operations.
Job Description: Reporting to the Production Manager, major responsibilities of the Production Technician are:
- Perform sterilization and maintenance checks including cleaning out-of-place (COP), cleaning in-place (CIP) and servicing in-place (SIP).
- Monitor production equipment and make operational adjustments as required to meet production specifications.
- Follow approved filling, filtering, and production procedures.
- Adhere to cGMP or current good manufacturing practices, standard operating methods and legal regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment and support routine maintenance activities.
- Accurately document production activities in logs, forms, reports, and electronic databases.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of production areas and equipment surfaces.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain current job knowledge through ongoing training.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks including pipetting, sample preparation, centrifuge operation, weighing materials, and handling laboratory equipment
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum high school diploma required; (2-year science diploma or university degree or a related field is an asset).
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or regulated production environment is preferred.
- GMP experience is considered an asset; training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Good documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow written procedures and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to follow strict hygiene, safety, and contamination-control procedures.
- Ability to lift materials/equipment and perform physically active tasks as required.

Compensation:
- Depending on experience between $20 - $30 per hour
Note: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis.
