Assist in planning and delivering youth programming aligned with the centre’s five pillars: Social/Leisure, Sports/Recreation, Life Skills, Creative/Arts, and Volunteer/Civic Engagement.

Engage youth in meaningful conversations and activities, offering guidance and support.
-
Serve as a positive role model by fostering an inclusive and respectful environment.
-
Encourage youth participation in activities that build confidence and skills.
-
Support youth in connecting with peers and community resources as needed.
-
Maintain confidentiality, uphold professional boundaries, and report incidents as required.

Ensure program policies and safety procedures are followed.

Collaborate with colleagues in program planning and centre maintenance.

Promote youth programs via social media and community initiatives.
-
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
-
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Social Services, Child and Youth Work, or a related field.

Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
-
Crisis Intervention and ASIST Certifications (asset).
Experience:
-
Experience working with youth in a community-based or support role.
-
Previous mentorship or role-modeling experience for youth.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to engage youth in diverse activities and discussions.

Understanding of youth developmental needs and social challenges.

Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
-
Organizational skills with flexibility to adapt to evolving program needs.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.

Valid G-class driver’s license with liability insurance (asset).
-
Knowledge of youth programming and community engagement strategies.
-
Understanding of social media’s role in youth outreach and engagement.
-
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
WORKING CONDITIONS
-
Casual/on-call position with scheduled shifts Monday to Saturday.
-
Multi-paced environment with frequent interactions.
-
Exposure to potential infectious conditions in a public setting.
-
Interactions with youth, staff, and community members.
-
Intermittent physical activity, including walking, standing, and lifting up to 35 lbs.
-
Manual dexterity required for computer and office equipment use.

Tuesday – Friday: 3:00pm – 8:00pm
Saturdays: 12:00pm-4:00pm

Monday – Thursday: 3:00pm-7:30pm
