Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Roofing Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with roofing projects, ensuring safety, and supporting skilled tradespeople in completing high-quality roofing installations and repairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn new skills in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems on residential and commercial buildings
- Use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and utility knives to perform various tasks
- Carry and position roofing materials and equipment safely on job sites
- Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, plywood, and other roofing components
- Read and interpret blueprints or project plans to support accurate installation
- Support carpentry tasks related to roof framing or structural adjustments
- Apply caulking or sealants to ensure waterproofing and weatherproofing of roofing systems
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards at all times
- Assist with general handyman tasks as needed to support the team’s workflow
Qualifications
- Experience with hand tools, construction, carpentry, or handyman work is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading is a plus
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for waterproofing is desirable
- Physical strength and stamina to work on rooftops in various weather conditions
- Prior experience in roofing or related trades is advantageous but not required
- Strong attention to safety protocols and teamwork skills
