Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently across various routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a focus on safety, and experience with commercial vehicle operation. Candidates should be committed to maintaining high standards of service and compliance with transportation regulations.
Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for the transportation of freight over short and long distances
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and issues
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle readiness
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during operations
- Assist with warehouse operations including freight handling and inventory management when required
Experience
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably in freight or logistics environments
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is advantageous but not mandatory
- Prior experience with long-haul or regional trucking routes is preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various settings
