The Alice Saddy Association is seeking ONE Acting Coordinator of Support for a Full-Time Eighteen-Month Contract opportunity to cover a maternity/parental leave.
This is a hands-on, people-focused role for individuals who are committed to person-directed support, community inclusion, team leadership, and helping adults with developmental disabilities live meaningful, self-directed lives.
The Acting Coordinator of Supports works alongside adults who receive 18–24 hours of support per day. This position includes both direct support responsibilities and coordination responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Manager of Supports, Direct Support Professionals, families, and community partners to ensure supports are consistent, responsive, safe, and aligned with each person’s goals.

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager of Supports, the Acting Coordinator of Supports is responsible for supporting the day-to-day coordination and implementation of individualized supports while continuing to provide direct support. This role requires strong communication, sound judgment, organization, initiative, and the ability to support teams in a collaborative and person-centred manner
The Acting Coordinator of Supports helps ensure that support plans, documentation, schedules, team communication, and daily practices are aligned with the needs, goals, rights, and choices of the people supported.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing direct support to people supported, including assistance with daily living, personal care, community participation, relationships, routines, and person-directed goals.
- Supporting the development, coordination, implementation, review, and documentation of Individual Support Plans and related support strategies.
- Coaching, mentoring, and role-modelling expectations for Direct Support Professionals while supporting team communication, consistency, problem-solving, and accountability.
- Maintaining accurate and current documentation in AIMS, including progress notes, support strategies, incidents, and relevant updates, in accordance with Association expectations.
- Supporting individualized medication, financial, Passport funding, and audit-related processes as delegated.
- Assisting with urgent and long-term shift coverage needs, including updating schedules in Inclusion Systems as required.
- Participating in the on-call rotation as directed.
- Maintaining clear and professional communication with people supported, families, team members, community partners, and the Manager of Supports.
- Completing administrative duties, including planning, documentation, scheduling-related tasks, and meetings with the Manager.
- Supporting a positive, respectful, person-centred, and accountable team culture.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a combination of relevant education in Human Services, Developmental Services, Social Services, or a related field, and at least three years of related experience in developmental services, direct support, coordination, or a similar support role. Equivalent combinations of education, lived experience, and professional experience will also be considered.
They will also possess strong communication, organization, problem-solving, relationship-building, documentation, and administrative skills, with the ability to coach and support team members while demonstrating sound judgment, professionalism, and a commitment to person-directed, inclusive community-based support.
Pre-Hire Requirements
Successful candidates must provide or complete the following:
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
- Vulnerable Sector Check specific to the Alice Saddy Association.
- Three verifiable supervisory references.
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Safe Management or CPI certification (Crisis Intervention Training)
- Valid driver’s licence, insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle.
Working Conditions
This role requires flexibility and includes a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, with availability to work days, evenings, and weekends as required. The Coordinator of Supports participates in the on-call rotation and may be required to respond to urgent support and staffing needs. Work is performed in home, community, office, and recreational settings and includes direct support duties, personal care, physical support, administrative and computer-based work, and the use of crisis prevention and intervention strategies when necessary.
Compensation and Benefits
- $26.96 per hour starting rate

Contract Term
This is an eighteen-month full-time contract position intended to provide coverage during a maternity/parental leave. The position is temporary in nature and is expected to begin in July 2026 and end in February 2028, unless otherwise extended or changed by the Association based on organizational needs.
