Early Childhood Educator (Toddler Room) – Full-Time
We are seeking a passionate, caring, and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team in our Toddler Room. This is a full-time position for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.
The successful candidate will hold Level 1 Early Childhood Educator certification or higher and have previous childcare experience. Our hourly wage includes the Alberta Government wage top-up, with the total compensation based on your level of Early Childhood Educator certification.
What You'll Do
As an Early Childhood Educator, you will:
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where children feel valued and supported.
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, and independence through play-based learning.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Support children's language, literacy, and communication development through daily interactions and activities.
- Observe, document, and assess children's progress to help guide programming and individual learning goals.
- Adapt activities and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of all children, including those requiring additional support.
- Maintain classroom routines while promoting positive behaviour and social-emotional growth.
- Ensure the classroom and outdoor play areas meet all health, safety, and licensing requirements.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to provide high-quality early learning experiences.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Level 1 Early Childhood Educator Certification or higher (Alberta).
- Previous experience working in a licensed childcare or early learning setting.
- A strong understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while taking initiative.
- Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs is considered an asset.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain, if required).
