Job Title: Waterfront Director
Reports To: Camp Director & Assistant Director
Number of Positions Available: 1
Specific Responsibilities:
- Lead in the organizing and setting up of the Waterfront before camps starting.
- Review all waterfront policies and procedures ensure everything is in place as required
- Attend daily Leadership Team meetings as scheduled.
- Be on call and prepared to assume a lead role in crisis management/emergency response.
- Ensure that waterfront policies and procedures are strictly adhered to by all campers/ staff.
- Train staff how to safely supervise all waterfront activities during staff training week.
- Lead practical drills throughout summer to ensure all staff know safety protocols and act with speed and effectiveness in emergency situations.
- Manage rotational lifeguard schedule and waterfront specialty staff schedule.
- Conduct campers’ swim test each week, to ensure all those who do not pass, wear PFDs.
- Clearly explain to each new group of campers, all waterfront rules and procedures.
- Plan and assist with alternate activities when necessary (rain days, Colour War days…).
- Set out daily opening/closing of waterfront checklists and ensure they are completed daily
- Conduct daily checks of all waterfront safety and boating equipment, along with first aid supplies and report any issues to the Director.
- Ensure that the waterfront area is kept tidy and safe, and all equipment is properly stored and cared for.
- Participate in camp special events, cabin supervision, and other camp duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Current National Lifeguard Qualification (NL).
- Current CPR-C and First Aid certification
- Current Certified Pleasure Craft Operator (Can be done after hired)
- Vulnerable Sector Background Check
- Must have 3 years’ experience working at a pool/waterfront
Recommended Qualifications:
- Aquatic Supervisor Training
- NL Instructor/Examiner
- Excellent working skills including: communication skills, organizational skills and attention to details.
Employment Period:
- Weekly Summer Camps (July - Sept 6, 2026)
- Retreats Sept 11-13, Sept 16-20 (if available)

Pay: $819.40 per week
