The John Howard Society of Nova Scotia is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated
individual to join our team for the summer months of July and August 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a student who is interested in community
development, social justice, research, and non-profit administration. The successful
candidate will gain valuable experience while contributing to meaningful work that
supports individuals and communities across Nova Scotia.
What You'll Be Doing
This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities will include:
Supporting grant sustainability efforts through research, information gathering,
and project support.
Assisting with administrative projects and organizational initiatives throughout the
summer.
Providing general administrative support as required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
An interest in community-based services, social justice, public policy, or non-
profit work is considered an asset.
Compensation
Term: July and August
Hourly Rate: $21.00 per hour
Vacation Pay: 4% vacation pay in accordance with employment standards
