Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Summer Camp Coordinator to lead our seasonal program in Kamloops. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children and fostering a positive, engaging environment. The coordinator will oversee daily camp activities, ensure safety, and support campers’ growth through educational and recreational experiences. The position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills while making a meaningful impact on children’s summer experience.
Duties
- Plan, organize, and execute daily camp activities aligned with educational and recreational goals
- Supervise and engage with children to promote a fun, inclusive, and safe environment
- Coordinate schedules for activities, field trips, and special events
- Support campers’ social and emotional development through guidance and mentorship
- Collaborate with staff to ensure adherence to safety protocols and camp policies
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding camper progress and camp updates
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of camp staff and volunteers
- Maintain a clean and organized camp environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and functional
Qualifications
- Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or working with children preferred
- Background in childhood education or related fields is a plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lead activities that promote learning and fun for teens 14-18.
- Passionate about working with children and creating positive summer experiences
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work flexible hours during the summer season
- Demonstrated ability to manage groups of children effectively
