Job description – Café Supervisor
Our Company:
Murchie's Tea & Coffee was founded in British Columbia in 1894. Since then Murchie's has been blending tea and roasting coffee to exacting standards and distributing it through our eight retail stores, grocery stores and food services. Our head office/manufacturing facility is located in Delta and we operate a commercial kitchen and café in our Government Street location in Victoria.
An opportunity at Murchie’s Government Street Cafe in Victoria, BC is available for a Café Lead
The Position:
The Café Lead will support the Café Management team with a hands-on approach to support team members in providing exceptional service in a clean, organized and well presented food service café. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Cafe Lead to assist in daily operations within our bustling cafe environment. The ideal candidate will possess developing leadership skills, a passion for food service, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. As a Cafe Lead, you will support team members, ensure food safety standards, and maintain efficient service flow, all while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for guests. This role offers an opportunity to showcase your supervisory skills and contribute to the success of our team.
Responsibilities:
· Lead by example, provide excellent customer service by creating an atmosphere where customers are approached, welcomed and served promptly
Directly delegate tasks
· Ensures all food products are handled correctly as per food safe regulations
· Supports daily operations
· Opens and closes café following procedures
· Supports training
· Encourages a positive and healthy working environment
Assists in/creates supply orders
· Ensures supply levels are adequate for daily use
· Assists in maintaining café food display cases
Produces barista style drinks and plates meals for customer orders
· Maintains a high level of enthusiasm
· Supports café cleanliness through team awareness and example
· Follows dress code
weekday and weekend availability
Skills & Abilities:
· Promptly determines customer’s needs, provides an excellent example for others to follow.
· Ensures adequate customer service coverage when scheduling employee breaks
· Monitors cash and till operations
· Utilize strong communication skills to ensure team is aware and updated
Attain and share menu product knowledge
· Flexible schedule

tips: 5-10 dollars per hour
Pay: $19.00-$21.50 per hour
