Chief Development Officer (CDO)
Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead our organization's fundraising, marketing, and development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive development strategies that align with our mission and growth objectives. This leadership role requires a strong background in donor relations, digital marketing, and data management to drive sustainable revenue streams and expand our community impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet organizational growth goals
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders to secure ongoing support
- Oversee the management of databases such as Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, and WordPress to track donor engagement and campaign performance
- Lead digital marketing efforts including email marketing campaigns via Mailchimp and other platforms to increase outreach and engagement
- Manage budgeting processes for development projects, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
- Design and execute targeted marketing campaigns utilizing research insights to optimize outreach effectiveness
- Collaborate with the marketing team on branding initiatives, content creation, and promotional activities
- Monitor industry trends in digital marketing, fundraising techniques, and nonprofit best practices to innovate development strategies
- Supervise a team of development professionals, providing mentorship and performance feedback
Requirements
- Proven experience in fundraising, digital marketing, or development leadership roles
- Strong skills in negotiation, relationship building, and stakeholder engagement
- Proficiency with databases such as Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, WordPress, and email marketing tools like Mailchimp
- Experience managing budgets and developing strategic plans aligned with organizational goals
- Knowledge of digital marketing channels including email marketing, social media, and research methodologies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate organizational vision effectively
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred

Starting rate: 75k, Share allocation, profit sharing, and performance based bonuses, uncapped salary.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 18 months
Pay: $217,927.26 per year
