About Us
Key Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mill. The uranium milled at Key Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.
The Role
In this role, you will support applying of corporate policies, procedures, technical and safety standards, and regulations (Federal, Provincial, corporate and SHEQ) in your day-to-day work. The position supports the site equipment refurbishment program, site operational reliability program, construction & commissioning team as required, and design changes & associated drafting to improve equipment life.
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to a variety of activities, including equipment failure investigations, equipment inspections, developing repair plans, mining/process equipment design, drafting, equipment selection, vendor support, 3rd party design review, and scope of work development.
- Create and update site drawings in CAD and Inventor.
- Conduct work to meet requirements as outlined in Cameco’s safety standards.
- Assess the Safety Program and implement improvements.
- Receive on the job training through regular design and engineering tasks and assist site maintenance engineers in carrying out technical tasks using prescribed analysis, design, or computational methods.
Required:
- entering your third or fourth year as a university student in mechanical engineering, or other applicable fields;
- demonstrate resolute attitude towards safety;
- solutions driven with a desire to learn and apply knowledge gained;
- demonstrate other soft skills such as teamwork, time management, and effective communication;
- experience with CAD software;
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft; and
- must be returning to school for the academic semester following your work term with Cameco.
Recommended:
- interest and or experience in data driven smart 3D modelling, industrial automation, lean principles, and value engineering.
