Position Summary
The Host/Cook Team Member supports both front-of-house and kitchen operations to ensure an exceptional guest experience. This position is responsible for preparing quality menu items, maintaining food safety standards, welcoming guests, and contributing to a clean, organized, and efficient restaurant environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Cook Responsibilities
- Prepare breakfast and lunch menu items according to company recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and served in a timely manner during service periods.
- Assist with daily food preparation, including portioning ingredients and stocking cooking stations.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and consistency throughout each shift.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
- Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries.
- Minimize food waste through proper handling, storage, and portion control.
- Work closely with team members to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
Host Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude upon arrival.
- Manage guest seating and waitlists to ensure smooth restaurant flow.
- Answer guest questions regarding menu items and restaurant services.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, entrance, and waiting areas.
- Assist with table setup, clearing, and resetting to maintain service standards.
- Support the team during busy periods by helping with various front-of-house tasks.
- Ensure guests receive prompt attention and a positive dining experience.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff regarding guest needs and seating arrangements.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of food preparation and food safety practices.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Working Conditions
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM operation hours.
- 8-hour shifts.
- Weekends, as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
