Job Title: Technologist (Part-Time) – Recording Engineering Music Program
Department: School of Art and Design – Recording Engineering and Music Production
Location: College Drive Campus – North Bay, ON
Status: Temporary Part-Time
Assignment dates: September 8 – December 18, 2026
Hours Per Week: Up to 24 hours
Pay Rate: $27.93/hour + 6% vacation pay

Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Music Recording or equivalent
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a music recording environment
- Ability to operate all program equipment
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience working with Avid ProTools and audio workflow pipelines
- Exposure to audio finishing software and workflows, with a willingness to learn and become proficient in this area
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage competing priorities as well as meet multiple deadlines
- In-person, on-campus position. Must be able to reliably commute to North Bay, ON
Responsibilities:
- Support Professors in the Recording Engineering – Music Program
- Assist students in the classroom
- Assist with the organization and dissemination/collection of equipment for student use
- Provide “hands-on” operational services to ensure efficient, productive, and harmonious operations for all client projects
- Support the day-to-day operational aspects of all projects to ensure a smooth experience for clients
- Utilize industry-standard software such as ProTools and Adobe Creative Suite to assist in the development and implementation of workflows that are driven by project requirements and client requests
- Understand and implement industry-standard workflows for incoming and outgoing projects
- Demonstrate a solid knowledge level of shared storage and networking infrastructure, including signal routing
- Provide insight and suggestions for the development of department processes to help create standard operating procedures
- Other duties as assigned
