Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the accountant's role is to maintain the books, handle month-end procedures, process payroll, invoice and collect from clients of a company with approximately 190 employees and a turnover of around $12M. It is a dynamic position that touches almost every stage of the accounting cycle.
Main Duties

Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and consolidated financial statements;

Perform bank reconciliations;

Post journal entries;
-
Conduct account analyses at month-end (inventory, payables, receivables, bank, etc.);

Reconcile intercompany transactions as well as accounts payable and receivable;

Process employee payroll and prepare year-end payroll reports;

Assist the Controller and CFO with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reports;

Prepare various reports, such as cash flow management;
-
File various returns for different levels of government;
-
Prepare various reports for internal accounting;
-
Assist the controller with audit preparation;
-
Manage GST and QST remittances;
-
Follow up with the Quebec Ministry of Revenue regarding all ongoing GST and QST audits as well as tax assessment notices;

Complete monthly and annual analyses for Statistics Canada;

Invoice customers and handle collections;
-
Substitute for and/or assist the accounts payable clerk during vacations;

Contribute to continuous improvement processes;
Any other related tasks directly or indirectly related to primary duties.

Knowledge, Education and Experience

University degree in accounting;

Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written, is essential;

1 to 3 years of experience in a similar position;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);

Proficiency in IT tools (O365 BC, IQMS, Nethris, Synerion) (asset)
