POSITION SUMMARY:
The Set-Up technician is responsible for troubleshooting molding processes, supporting production efficiency, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving, communication, and technical skills.
Responsible for:

Managing and directing resources to tackle technical issues that arise during the shift that results in meeting safety, quality and delivery targets

Fostering a working environment that is fair, equitable and driven to continuous improvements

Setting, starting up and troubleshooting moulding machines for production runs

Providing support to the Shift Supervisor

Following and complying with Cube Management System (CMS)
Duties:
-
Set up and start up injection moulding machines
-
Complete mould and insert changes
-
Follow-up, trouble-shoot and adjust processes for any quality issues, including flash, long gates, warping, blooming, witness marks, cloudiness, etc.

Identify and communicate mould/machine problems to Shift Supervisor and Maintenance Technicians

Maintenance and storage of moulds and inserts (tooling)
- Assist Shift Supervisors as required – training of new staff, incident investigations and audits to determine root causes and corrective actions
Communicate with previous and next shift to understand any technical or quality issues

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge/Qualifications
-
High School Graduate
-
Vocational school an asset
-
5 years minimum of technical experience in injection moulding
- Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics

Basic tooling background an asset
-
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and produce results

Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
-
Crane, and forklift certification required
