About the Role
GolfLinks operates a portfolio of golf courses across Ontario. We are looking for a hands-on Handyman/Maintenance worker to handle building repairs, infrastructure upkeep, and general facility work across several of our properties, with day-to-day golf course maintenance duties at a home facility when project work is not scheduled.
This is a varied role suited to someone who is comfortable working independently, moving between sites, and switching between skilled repair work and general grounds work depending on what the operation needs that day.
Key ResponsibilitiesFacility and Infrastructure (Primary)
- Perform general building repairs and preventative maintenance on clubhouses, pro shops, maintenance shops, halfway houses, cart barns, and outbuildings
- Carry out basic carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and finishing work
- Complete minor plumbing and electrical repairs within scope (fixtures, faucets, switches, receptacles, lighting)
- Repair and maintain doors, windows, locks, railings, decking, fencing, and signage
- Maintain and repair on-course infrastructure including bridges, tee decks, cart paths, ball washers, benches, and shelters
- Assist with irrigation system repairs, drainage work, and pump house upkeep
- Support equipment and small engine troubleshooting alongside the mechanic or turf team
- Respond to urgent repair issues across sites as directed
- Assist with seasonal opening and closing of facilities
- Coordinate with outside contractors and trades when work falls outside internal scope
- Track materials used and flag supply or parts needs for purchasing
Golf Course Maintenance (Secondary)
- Operate mowers and turf equipment for greens, tees, fairways, and rough as assigned
- Perform bunker maintenance, raking, edging, and trimming
- Assist with hand watering, hose work, and syringing
- Set cups, tee markers, and course accessories
- Support divot filling, topdressing, aeration, and general course setup
- Assist with course cleanup following storms or high-traffic events
- Perform other turf and grounds duties as directed by the Superintendent
Qualifications
Required
- Demonstrated experience in general maintenance, construction, facilities, or a skilled trade
- Practical working knowledge of carpentry, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work
- Comfortable and safe with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence with a clean abstract and reliable transportation between sites
- Able to work independently with limited supervision and manage a task list across multiple locations
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Available to work weekends, early mornings, and occasional extended hours during peak season
Preferred
- Prior experience in golf course maintenance, grounds, or turf operations
- Working at Heights certification
- Small engine or equipment repair experience
- Welding or metal fabrication experience
- WHMIS and general health and safety training
- Forklift or skid steer experience
Season and Hours
Seasonal full-time position running approximately April through November, with the possibility of extended or year-round work depending on operational needs. Standard 40 plus hours per week during peak season, including weekend rotation.
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate based on experience. Golf privileges and staff discounts included.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
