About the Role
Are you great with your hands, natural at leading others, and looking for a role where you aren't stuck with a massive corporation? Hiltz Exteriors is looking for an Exterior Construction Crew Lead to help run our residential projects in the New Hamburg and surrounding areas (mainly Kitchener-Waterloo area).
In this role, you will work closely with the owner but will quickly be trusted to run the job site independently. You’ll be hands-on with the tools, installing eavestroughs, siding, soffits, and fascia, while leading a dedicated helper (and occasionally a third crew member).
If you have general construction skills and a great attitude, we are highly willing to teach you our specific trade.
What You’ll Do Daily:
- Work hands-on alongside 1–2 helpers to install siding, eavestrough, soffit, and fascia.
- Lead by example on-site, keeping projects moving efficiently and safely.
- Work comfortably on ladders and at heights.
- Review project details and carry out instructions with minimal supervision.
- Drive company vehicles to and from job sites when required.
What We’re Looking For:
- Tool Savvy: Comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools safely (general carpentry or renovation experience is a huge asset).
- Teachable Attitude: You don’t need 10 years of siding experience, but you must want to learn, improve, and take pride in your work.
- Independence: Someone who listens well, figures out a path forward, and can solve problems without needing constant oversight.
- Logistics & License: You must have a valid G Driver's License (with a clean abstract) to drive company trucks, and your own reliable vehicle to get to our shop in New Hamburg or directly to local job sites.
