Firmware / Embedded Systems Engineer

The Role
The Quality Director will work with engineering, operations and production to build robust quality processes and ensure regulatory compliance. This role is critical in establishing and maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 requirements while supporting product development, manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives from prototype to final production.
Requested Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in developing, testing and releasing final production firmware, preferably in a highly regulated industry
- Working knowledge of embedded systems and microcontrollers
- Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting tools (soldering, multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
- Knowledge of electromagnetic compliance (EMC), RF and signal processing
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility and active collaboration to consistently meet deadlines
- Familiarity with IEC 60601 and other regulatory standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot circuit designs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to create and maintain documentation in accordance with ISO 13485 requirements
- Experience with testing, verification, and design validation procedures
Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of the Embedded Systems Lead to develop, test and deploy production firmware for life-saving powered PPE devices
- Support the development and execution of verification and validation testing plans for electronic assemblies
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers to ensure risk management files (DFMEA, PFMEA, UFMEA) and design documentation meets ISO 13485 standards
- Support the prototyping and testing of electrical subsystems, including data collection and analysis
- Assist in creating and maintaining the Design History File (DHF) and technical documentation
- Other duties as assigned
