About Us:
Humphrey Fleet Service Inc. (HFS) is a thriving second-generation family business based in Stratford, Ontario, with a rich history dating back to May 1981. Operating from a well-equipped 15,000 square foot facility, HFS specializes in heavy-duty truck and trailer repairs, serving both fleet customers and individual clients.
We are currently looking for a skilled Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our operation!
Position Overview:
The right candidate will be responsible for welding, fitting, and fabricating repair parts and custom components, as well as installing both fabricated and prefabricated accessories onto customer trucks, trailers, and equipment. This role requires strong technical ability, creativity, and attention to detail. This is not a learn to weld position.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Operate shear and press brake to create repair parts or custom-fabricate components and accessories.
- Fabricate structural components as required for repairs or custom builds.
- Install custom-fabricated and prefabricated accessories onto trucks, trailers, and equipment.
- Assist with upfitting projects including custom modifications, reinforcements, and accessory installations.
- Read and interpret drawings, measurements, and instructions to ensure accuracy and fitment.
- Use cutting torches, grinders, drills, plasma cutters, and other metalworking tools safely and effectively.
- Ensure all welds and fabricated components meet company standards for strength, safety, and appearance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
- Support the service department during periods of reduced welding workload by assisting with repairs, maintenance, shop operations, and other assigned tasks, as directed by management.
- Follow all Health & Safety policies, including PPE requirements and equipment safety procedures.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of welding/fabrication experience (truck/trailer or equipment industry preferred). This is not a learn to weld position, experience is an asset.
- Strong proficiency in MIG welding and TIG welding (aluminum and stainless) is required.
- Proficient in operating shear and press brake.
- Ability to fabricate repair parts and custom components from scratch.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and use material-handling aids when needed.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- CWB welding certification preferred but not mandatory.
- Forklift and crane experience preferred.
- Journeyperson Welder certification, red seal is an asset.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
