Job Overview
We are looking for a dependable, safety-minded Labourer/Pilot Vehicle Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be involved in moving buildings within Alberta. The position involves assisting the crew to prepare and load the building for transport, driving your assigned pilot vehicle during the transport of the building, and assisting the crew to unload the building. This position offers the chance to work in a unique, specialty industry.
Duties
- Safely operate your assigned pilot vehicle, related machinery and power tools.
- Carefully load and unload the building mover's tools, supplies, and equipment to prevent damage.
- Assist with physical labour tasks required for preparing, loading and unloading the building.
- Comply with traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Communicate with other vehicles over a 2-way radio to ensure the safe transport of the building.
- Complete pre-trip inspections and basic maintenance to keep assigned pilot vehicle, company equipment, and tools in safe working order.
- Follow all safety protocols during transportation and moving operations.
- Follow all safety protocols to protect yourself, your team, and the public.
- Maintain accurate safety, inspection and trip documentation.
Skills
- Commercial driving experience is an asset.
- Ability to operate power tools and experience as a skid steer operator are assets.
- A valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- A valid Class 5 with an air endorsement is an asset.
- Physically able to lift and handle materials and perform manual work for extended periods.
- Strong organization sills and attention to detail.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Able to follow instructions and retain task procedures for future work.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills for vehicles and equipment are an asset.

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
