Reporting to the Bakery Manager, the successful applicant will direct and supervise activities to ensure the production schedules aremet safely and on time. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing leadership to our employees and for overseeing the daily operations within our Bakery to ensure the smooth provision of quality fresh food products to help out valued customers throughout the greater St. John'sarea.
Responsibilities:
- Provide positive leadership, direction, coaching andsupport to all employees.
- Coordinate the various department production and staffingschedules to ensure that production in the plant runs smoothly andsale needs/quotas are met on time
- Ensure the Company's quality and sanitation standards aremet and that employees are using proper methods andprocedures
- Troubleshoot and lead problem-solving efforts to improve efficiencies and minimize waste and costs
- Maintain a safe & secure work environment for all employees while playing an active role in heath and safely compliance
- Communicate performance expectations, monitor & appraiseperformance; this may include coaching, training, disciplining &enforcing corporate policies & procedures.
- Monitor efficiency, production, quality and waste to ensureall are within acceptable guidelines; implementing corrective actions as deemed necessary.
- Establish objectives and goals for the Bakery and formulate policies and programs while taking a leadership role in the implementation of these programs.
-Determine short- and long-range requirements in personnel,material and facilities to accomplish production forecasts
- Coordinate the ordering of raw materials and flow of new products and commodities into the Bakery
- Assure that profit and other goals are attained
- Maintain close liaison with other key management personnel in order to coordinate all phases of operations and provide optimum services
- Direct the production/operation activities of the Bakery
- Control the human resources cost and growth.
Qualifications:
- 2 to 4 years of progressive supervisory experience,preferably in the bakery environment
- Must be demonstrative decision-maker and problem-solver whoeasily interacts with others and is adept at leading and motivating ateam
- A strong financial background which would include financia land strategic planning, budgets and analysis of operational costs
- Demonstrated ability to improve operational processes and efficiencies with a proven track record in quality improvement, operational enhancements and cost reduction
- Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Working knowledge of MS Work, Excel and Outlook would bebeneficial.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and sanitation best practices,as well as a strong background in health and safety
- Ability to evaluate production/packaging processes and follow the most efficient methods
- Flexibility and availability for shift work, including someweekend work, is required.
