Job Description
Toonie Tours is currently looking for Tour Guides to join our team and represent their local community in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
This position is for a freelance, contractor position and experience in a similar role is preferred. We are primarily hiring people who are available to work part-time or seasonal full-time, and often on weekends. The primary responsibility for this position is to lead a group of 5-30 customers on a highly entertaining and engaging tour of your community.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Creative – Learn, research, design, and personalize tours and stories to be authentically presented.
- Leadership – Meet, welcome, and lead tour groups of 5-30 customers.
- Customer-Service – Provide local recommendations and tips for out-of-town travelers, and customers less familiar with your community.
- Be the local Toonie Tours Expert – Represent Toonie Tours, your community, and tour guides in general to the public. You are actively involved in your community and have that wanderlust spirit.
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Key Attributes
- Communicative and Social – Strong verbal communication skills, ability to present and speak loudly, personable, and approachable. We are looking for fluent English-speaking Tour Leaders and welcome additional languages (French, Spanish, German) to join our offerings.
- Entertaining and Positive – Exceptional story-telling skills, capture the attention of the group, and has a great sense of humor.
- Self-driven / Self-starter / High Performer – Works well in a performance-based compensation model. Is recommendable and commands 5-star reviews.
- Flexible & Confident – Adapts well to varying circumstances as the group needs change with the always-changing outdoor environment.
- Punctual – shows up early for every tour, without fail.
- Physically fit - (can manage 5 km of walking in 3 hours, while speaking and presenting)
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal, Freelance
Pay: $18.00-$40.00 per hour
