Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health and Safety Trainer and Fit Tester to join our team. This role is vital in promoting a safe working environment by providing comprehensive training on health and safety protocols, as well as conducting fit testing for respiratory protection equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing settings and possess strong training and development skills to effectively educate employees on safety standards and proper equipment usage.
Duties
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate health and safety training programs
- Conduct fit testing for respiratory protective devices to ensure proper fit and seal for all employees
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions and fit test results in compliance with regulatory standards
- Educate employees on the correct use, maintenance, and limitations of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Stay current with OSHA regulations and industry best practices related to workplace safety
- Assist in the creation of safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans
- Collaborate with management to identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Lead safety meetings and promote a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization
Requirements
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on health and safety training or related roles
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment including Lift Truck, Overhead Crane, MEWPs
- Experience with JHSC, WAH and Food Safety an asset
- First Aid Training is an asset
- Strong background in training & development, with the ability to effectively communicate complex safety concepts
- Certification or experience in fit testing procedures (e.g., qualitative or quantitative fit testing methods)
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and documentation
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Prior experience in manufacturing is highly preferred; familiarity with PPE protocols is a plus

Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
