SUMMARY: Responsible to assume duties in the Logistics Department. The job requires organization, coordination, communication and dedication. Respect for safety is a must. This is an entry level position with the opportunity for advancement for the right candidate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ship materials ensuring accuracy of paperwork, correct quantities, proper labelling, and all items are damage‑free prior to loading.
- Receive materials ensuring accurate quantities match all paperwork (BOL, packing list, PO) and products are damage‑free, immediately report discrepancies or concerns to supervisor.
- Prepares bins for finished production material and incoming raw materials.
- Stage and scan outbound materials for shipment, ensuring all items are linked to the correct sales order, delivery and shipment.
- Label and put away incoming materials into assigned warehouse locations using FIFO/FEFO
- Prepare sample orders.
- Help with inventory counts.
- Maintain warehouse and dock areas in a clean and orderly manner.
- Verify material returns from production or finished jobs to confirm quantities, conditions, and proper item identification.
- Verify materials for outgoing jobs, ensuring correct HUs, batch, vendor lot numbers, packaging, and labeling requirements are met.
- Other activities based on plant, shipping and receiving schedule.
- Participates in Logistics projects such as sorting, re-packing, quarantine, or rework of materials when quality issues occur.
- Follow all established warehouse safety protocols, including PPE requirements, forklift safety rules, report unsafe conditions, spills, damaged racking, or hazards to supervisor during daily walk around.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma
- Current Forklift certification.
- 3-5 years in shipping/receiving plant environment.
- Intermediate PC computer skills; Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) Web usage required.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Ability to read, communicate and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
- Ability to implement, enforce and maintain guidelines.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Have no issues or barriers working in a dusty environment.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.
- Very organized.
- A safe record in operating of a fork truck is essential.
- Must be able to work independently and within a team. Requires initiative, reliability, and good attitude.
