The machinist is responsible for machining precision parts from technical drawings, using CNC lathes and/or milling machines. They contribute directly to the quality, conformity, and performance of the manufactured products, while adhering to safety standards and quality requirements.
Main roles and responsibilities
Read and interpret plans, technical drawings and specifications.
Machining precision parts using CNC lathes and milling machines (DMG Mori).
Select the appropriate cutting tools, machining parameters, and fixtures.
Perform adjustments, settings and start-ups of the machines.
Check dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, comparators, etc.).
Ensure compliance with quality requirements and document inspection results.
Identify and report any non-conformity or anomaly.
Perform basic machine maintenance and keep the workstation clean and safe.
Comply with health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards.
Collaborating with engineers, quality and production to optimize processes.
Participate in the packaging, labeling and handling of parts and components.
Prepare orders for shipment and manage the receipt of goods.
Check the delivery notes and the conformity of the products.
Loading and unloading trucks safely.
Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
Comply with health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards.
Job requirements
Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in machining techniques or equivalent.
Relevant experience in machining precision parts.
Ability to read and interpret technical plans.
Mastery of measuring instruments and tight tolerances.
Knowledge of metallic materials (steel, stainless steel, alloys, etc.).
Rigour, attention to detail and a sense of responsibility.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of OHS standards in a manufacturing environment.
3 weeks of vacation
5 paid personal days and 5 additional days during the holiday season
Possibility of working 4 x 10 hours from Monday to Thursday or 5 x 8 hours from Monday to Friday
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation: $26.00 to $38.00 per hour
